EDP vs EDT: What Is the Difference?

EDP (eau de parfum) contains more fragrance oil than EDT (eau de toilette), usually about 15 to 20 percent against 5 to 15 percent. That makes EDP last longer and smell richer, while EDT is lighter and fresher. EDP usually costs more for the same size.

These ranges are typical, not fixed rules. Brands choose their own concentrations, and the notes matter too: oud, amber and musk last longer than citrus at the same strength.
