Why some perfumes last longer
Longevity depends on two things: how much fragrance oil the perfume contains, and which notes it uses. An EDP has more oil than an EDT, so it lasts longer. Heavy base notes such as oud, amber, musk and woods evaporate slowly, while citrus and fresh notes fade fastest. That is why oud perfumes usually outlast fresh ones.
How to make perfume last longer in Pakistan's heat
- Spray right after a shower, on skin that is clean and slightly moisturised.
- Spray pulse points: neck, chest, wrists and behind the ears. Don't rub your wrists together.
- Spray a little on clothes too, since fabric holds scent longer than skin.
- Layer an attar underneath: dab the oil first, then spray the EDP over it.
- Store bottles away from heat and sunlight, never in a hot car.
